What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?
My passion for exercise and being active has given me an appreciation for the importance of good rehabilitation.
Having competed in a marathon, a half iron man triathlon and multiple trail running and adventure races, I’m motivated to help others get moving again and back to doing what they love. I also really enjoy finding ways to make rehabilitation an enjoyable experience.
Having done a snow season in Canada, I’m familiar with snow sporting injuries and understand the impact they have on someone’s holiday and/ or snow season.
Favourite Conditions to Treat:
I really enjoy lower limb rehab, especially ankle injuries having rolled an ankle (or two) in my time, however knees would be a close second. I also like making people feel better and treating painful necks and shoulders.
What are you happiest doing when you’re not working?
Anything active and outdoors! I absolutely love surfing and snowboarding. Living in Cairns makes both of those a little difficult with the no waves and no snow situation. So I spend my time either trail running/ hiking the national parks or freediving and spearfishing on the Great Barrier Reef. It’s very rare that my swag or hiking tent aren’t used on any given weekend.
What would be your personal motto?
How good is this?!
Who is someone you admire and why?
I really admire my sister and my parents. They’ve always worked really hard, have achieved amazing things and have always been so generous, kind and supportive to everyone around them along the way. No challenge is ever too big. They’re just really great people and awesome role models, and I’m lucky to have them in my corner.
Your most-outstanding achievement:
Either doing the 70.3 Ironman last year or learning how to spearfish. Nothing quite compares to diving deep, sustainably catching dinner and then camping on an island with your best mates… except maybe completing a really challenging triathlon with aforementioned best mates.
