I am Physiotherapist from Australia, trained in Canberra and worked for two years with a small private practice treating a wide range of patients from Australian Defense personnel to the everyday person with nagging pain to the casual athlete after an acute injury. I believe empowering the patient to better understand their condition/presentation and fostering patient independence is the best way through pain and injuries.
At the end of the day, we as Physio’s are the experts in bodies, but the patient should be the expert of their own body. As someone who has come from elite level basketball and seen multiple Physiotherapists following many injuries, the best rehab felt like a collaborative process rather than a dictated plan. I want the best for all of my patients, to get them back to what matters most, no matter what that is.

What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?
Adaptability and flexibility with both peers and patients. As a physiotherapist you learn quickly that real life is very different to what is represented in the text books. Conditions can have highly variable symptom presentations from patient to patient and being able to think of your feet and pivot when necessary is very important. Being able to collaboratively identify what works and what doesn’t  with the patient is something I pride myself on. I love being able to work with a patient to empower them and help them understand their body.

Favourite Conditions to Treat:
Rotator Cuff Related Pain or ACLR

What are you happiest doing when you’re not working?
Listening to music, watching movies, hiking or playing sport.

What would be your personal motto?
Go with the flow and laughter is the best medicine

Who is someone you admire and why?
Giannis Antetokounmpo – He is a fantastic athlete that came from nothing and rose to become one of the greatest basketball players of all time. Giannis is exceedingly humble and grounded, despite his position in life now, he maintains his core values and always looks to improve. I think Giannis’ is a great example of drive, authenticity, leadership and success. I believe being true to yourself, owning up to mistakes, constructive reflection and criticism, and never shying away from new experiences are key to success and growth. These are all qualities that I believe Giannis embodies.

Your most-outstanding achievement:
Delivering CPR to a patient who suffered an unidentified attack quickly enough for the gentleman to survive and recover.
